Old Course
Designed by Fred Hawtree and opened in 1976 this mature parkland course of 6,808 yards lies at the southern end of Bedwell Park.
The course is quite undulating, with a change of elevation of some 50 feet – many golfers use a buggy. The 6th and 18th tees offer some of the most sweeping views.
Of all the challenging holes on the Old Course probably the most memorable are the par five 3rd and 12th holes which share a multi-tiered green, and the 392 yard par four 16th, whose tree-lined fairway hosts a huge central oak 100 yards short of the green at the knee of a dog-leg. There are many ways to play this one, and more ways NOT to play it!
The Old Course is open to visitors, societies and club members.
